RCMSAR and supporting societies fund-raise money for training, equipment and capital purchases each year.
While we do receive a stipend from the Department of Fisheries & Oceans to cover fuel for incidents and some limited training, we are otherwise dependent on donations and fundraising to operate.
Each year RCMSAR Richmond spends money on:
- 250-300 hours for on water training
- equipment replacement and renewal
- Maintenance activities (Oil changes, wear and tear of systems)
- First Aid Supplies
- Community Events & Boating Safety Information
- 50+ hours of Classroom training (& associated supplies)
- Administration Fee's (audits, supplies)
- Recruiting Activities (Pamphlets, Cards)
Your contributions can help us help others in our community. We endeavor not only to provide emergency SAR response, but also to ensure we provide public education of our local waters knowledge and boating safety.
